We are the Obra D. Tompkins High School's Robotics Club located in Katy, Texas, established in 2014. We are a club on campus, but we are better known competitively in the FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC) as the Steel Talons and the FRC team number of #5427. We work out of the Robert R. Shaw Center, the Katy ISD's STEAM center also known to us as the RSC.
Team 5427 won the 2023 FIT District Channelview competition, 2018 UIL Robotics State Championship, 2019 Regional Chairman's Award, 2023, 2022 & 2020 District FIRST Impact/Chairman's Award, 2023 FIT Channelview Autonomous Award, 2019 District Engineering Inspiration Award plus three Spirit Awards in 2018.
