We are the Obra D. Tompkins High School's Robotics Club in Katy, Texas, established in 2014. We are a club on campus, but we are better known competitively in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) as the Steel Talons, FRC #5427. We work out of the Robert R. Shaw Center, the KatyISD's STEAM center also known as the RSC.
We host two Summer Camps each summer for children ages 6 to 14 years of age. They learn how to build robots and learn a variety of technology applications and other STEM activities. Please click on our SUMMER CAMPS menu option to be added to our email list and to see when our camps are being offered this summer. We accept new student members in August and September of each new school year. We have monthly meetings and Kickoff at the school campus. We train and build robots at the RSC. Students can join the team as 9th graders or any other high school grade. The earlier you join the more you get out of participating which will help you on college apps, college majors, and internships. To receive information on how to join in August, click on the JOIN tab. We are so thankful for our sponsors! We are looking for sponsors for the upcoming season to support the students who want to build robots and further their STEM knowledge and abilities preparing them for a future in STEM after college. Click on our SPONSORS menu option for the list of all our sponsors over the years and how to contact us. |
